Late Night Date Ideas

Well that’s it then, by Sunday British Summer Time will officially be over. All of a sudden it’ll be dark before we leave work (and for some of us, when we get there too) and the cold will start biting.

On the plus side however, putting the clocks back does give us all an extra hour of weekend, which most people will probably spend in bed but which we at Singles365.com think could be much better spent extending your Saturday night date by another hour!

So with that in mind, here are a few ideas on where to spend a late night date.

A late night double feature picture show

Late Night CinemaWatch a film with all the worst bits of cinema-going removed (the queue for tickets, the queue for snacks, the fight through the crowd, the noisy kids in the row in front). Most multiplex cinemas run midnight showings of the big films and many even show older films or classic movies later on. Ticket prices are also frequently lower for films starting after 11pm, and with fewer people crammed into the auditorium you’ll get more space to spread yourself out and watch in comfort or, if you so choose, more privacy for a bit of back-row canoodling.

Should I stay or should I go

Late Night PubSince the licensing laws changed many pubs and bars have extended their opening hours. But with nightclubs proving more popular than ever normal town centre pubs tend to get quieter after 10:00/11:00 when a lot of people head off to get funky on the dancefloor which is prefect if you’re looking for some space to sit and have a good chat over a civilised drink. The music often slows down a bit too to accomodate a more sedate atmosphere so stay where you are, sit back, relax and get to know your date while the rest of the country jumps around like lunatics.

You make me feel like dancing

Late Night ClubClubbing. It may basically be jumping around like lunatics, and yes, it’s a bit of a cliche, but there’s a reason for that, and that reason is that it’s damn good fun. It make take a little Dutch courage for some of us (OK, a LOT of Dutch courage for a few of us) to get on the dancefloor, but find the right venue with the right music and you’ll be boogying away like, well, a lunatic! And don’t worry about looking like a drunk Uncle dancing at a wedding – a quick glance around should reveal a good proportion of the room to be in exactly the same boat.

“Costa NeroBucks”

Late Night CoffeeIf you’re lucky enough to have one close by, try out a late-night coffee house for some post-pub people watching. A much more relaxed atmosphere than any pub could provide, you’ll avoid the potential of making a drunken fool of yourself in front of your date and might even get a nice comfy sofa to boot. Choose your venue quite carefully though, as sitting by a plate-glass window next-door to a town centre Wetherspoons at closing time on a Saturday night is more for of an extreme sport than a quiet, late-night date.

Know when to hold ‘em, know when to fold ‘em

Late Night CasinoYou don’t need to have the experience of James Bond or the cash of Roman Abramovich to have a good night out at a casino. Most casinos won’t require you to become a member and with minimum stakes of less than £1 on many games, “how to” guides available on the premises, food, drink and entertainment on the go and typical opening hours extending to 6am and beyond there’s plenty of help to ease you into the gaming experience without breaking the bank, boring you to tears or cutting your evening unexpectedly short.

That’s it for our ideas on dating into the wee small hours. Do leave a comment below if you try any of these and make sure you tell us how it goes too (especially if you end up in a coffee house next to Wetherspoons!!!). Or if you have any ideas of your own, you can share them here too.
