Always Eat Breakfast
You’ll have heard it before, and that’s because it’s true! If you want to lose weight you must eat breakfast because it gives your metabolism a kick-start. If you don’t eat within an hour of waking up, your metabolism won’t work at its peak until later, by which time you’ll have wasted several hours of crucial calorie burning!
Eat Little & Often
Eating little and often is much better for you than eating one or two large meals a day because it keeps your blood sugar levels balanced so you won’t feel hungry or over eat. It also keeps your metabolism working at its peak so you’ll burn more calories.
The 20 Minute Rule
If you finish your meal and still feel hungry, wait for at least ten minutes before having a second helping because it takes twenty minutes for the food to hit your stomach and send a message to brain to tell you that you’re full.
Overload With Fruit & Veg
Pack in as much fruit and veg into your meals as possible because not only will it fill you up, but they’re loaded with hundreds of vitamins and minerals that help your body work at its peak and burn calories rather than laying down fat reserves. B vitamins are vital for a healthy metabolism, vitamin C converts sugars into energy, zinc helps you feel full, and choline found in potatoes, tomatoes, bananas, and lentils metabolises fats.
Make your Own Lunch
Shop-bought sandwiches and salads are laden with calories so get into the habit of making your own lunch instead. You’ll also save around £20 a week which you spend on pampering yourself! Manicure of facial anyone?
Never Shop When You’re Hungry
Never go to the supermarket on an empty stomach because you’re more likely to buy junk food and be tempted by unhealthy two for ones. Get organised, plan your meals for the next week, make a list of everything you need and stick to it! Tempation won’t be in the cupboards and you’ll spend less money, which means you can buy some new clothes to go with your sexy new look!
