OK, firstly an apology to any non-sports fans. We promise this will be our last sport-based post for a while (unless we win the cricket that is!). But we just had to mention Usain Bolt’s second world-record performance of the week in the 200m final at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin last night.
Bolt’s time of 19.19 seconds broke his own record by 0.11 seconds, the same margin as he broke the 100m record on Sunday. Bolt now becomes the first man in history to be Olympic champion, World champion and world record holder for both 100m and 200m at the same time.
Bolt will also be part of the Jamaican 4x100m relay team competing on Saturday, so there is potential for yet another gold medal and world record combo to match the treble he gained in the same three disciplines at the Beijing Olympics last year.
